Ever since I got my first marketing job a few years ago, I have been working “in-house” in the online marketing and specifically, search engine marketing area for companies of various sizes and industries. I guess it was a combination of some luck, fluke and fate that brought me into this fascinating industry, as I had no clue what SEO was prior to that job.
Since then, I have been tasked to provide SEO requirements for site redesign, oversee site relaunches, manage SEM (Search Engine Marketing)/paid search campaigns, provide analysis on rankings, keywords, competitors and industry, create and manage link building campaigns, and many other typical SEO tasks.
Although the ultimate objectives of a SEO have always been the same - to generate quality traffic and conversion from the search engine and other online channels, the experiences, challenges, and opportunities at different companies and industries vary greatly from an in-house SEO perspective.
But of course, I’m not going to explain them here, as that is the whole purpose of this blog - to provide insights into SEO career, news, trends, experience, and other online marketing development from an in-house SEO perspective.
